Mega Visions Issue #2 cover reveal, release date announcement!
We’ve been hard at work finishing up Issue #2, but we wanted to take a quick break to share some exciting updates with you today.
As we mentioned in our last update, Issue #2 will be Yakuza themed with SEGA’s classic series gracing our cover, and it will also include a Yakuza 1 retrospective, Yakuza 0 review and a Yakuza 6 preview. The future certainly looks bright for Yakuza, and we think fans of the series will really enjoy this issue.
With that said, allow us to reveal the final Issue #2 cover!
Our cover artist Rob Duenas has done a superb job at putting his own spin on the classic Yakuza characters, and we think it turned out really great. There’s so much attention to detail in this piece that we instantly fell in love with it when it came across our desk.
We’d love to hear what you think about our new cover, so be sure to comment below!
Streamlining smartphone version
We were incredibly happy with how much content we were able to cram into Issue #1, but we realized that it can take quite a long time to navigate through the magazine on smartphones.
We were a little surprised when we realized the smartphone version clocked in at a whopping 279 pages! That’s gigantic for any video game magazine, and resulted in a lot of swiping and maybe even a few sore thumbs. 🙂
To fix that and hopefully make it easier to navigate, we’re introducing a new feature in the smartphone version that will allow you to easily “jump” to the next article in the magazine. So now, instead of having to completely swipe through each page to get to the next article, you’ll be able to click the “jump bar” at the bottom of the page, and it will instantly take you to the next article.
We also plan on simplifying the smartphone version’s design, which should trim down the overall page count, while still keeping the full articles intact.
Issue #2 release date
While we have your attention, we thought it’d be a good time to announce that Issue #2 will arrive on digital newsstands on Jan. 30!
We’re getting some last minute coverage at the EAG International expo in London this week to get some hands-on time with Daytona USA 3, as well as checking out what other arcade titles SEGA has in store for us this year, and all that coverage will be included in Issue #2.
You can also expect to see some entirely new features and columns beginning in this next issue, like a Kickstarter Watchdog column and a “Where are they now?” feature that will surely bring back some funny memories for you Yakuza fans out there! 😉
Well, that wraps up the latest update. We have some really big plans for Mega Visions this year, and we’ll be sure to announce details in the coming months.
