Wii U

Here’a a crap ton of Yakuza 1 & 2 HD screens, video

A few days after the latest Nintendo Direct, in which Nintendo Satoru Iwata announced a new partnership between his company and SEGA, a video and screenshots have been released for Yakuza 1 and 2 HD on the Wii U. The game, which is scheduled to be released in Japan on Aug. 8, was actually made available on the PlayStation 3 in Japan late last year but was released in North America or Europe. While it’s not been confirmed that the game will be released outside Japan, it’s notable that this combo marks the first time a game in the series is released on something other than a PlayStation console.

If you go to the official Japanese Yakuza site, you can view screen-by-screen comparison shots between the PS3 and PS2 versions, which should be pretty similar to the upcoming Wii U version. In addition to the enhanced visuals, players will also be able to use the GamePad for off-screen gameplay and use it for maps.
