Geras joins Mortal Kombat 1

Can one change destiny?

Yesterday, NetherRealm Studios revealed a new trailer for Mortal Kombat 1, showcasing the guardian of the hourglass Geras.

The trailer also reveals a little more to the game’s plot, as Geras warns Liu Kang about the consequences of altering elements of the timeline. As we know, Mortal Kombat 1 reboots the Mortal Kombat timeline, giving familiar characters new backgrounds. In Mortal Kombat 11, Liu Kang defeated Kronkia and Shang Tsung. As a result, the new defender of Earthrealm sought to create a more balanced timeline to bring peace and prosperity to all the realms. However, in the trailer Geras warns Liu Kang about a new, unforeseen threat.

Alongside the new story details, the trailer also gives us a look at Geras’ gameplay. We also see the guardian of the hourglass’ devastating X-ray move and fatality. You can check out the trailer for yourself below!

Both Geras’ and Liu Kang’s fatalities showcase the visceral brutality that makes Mortal Kombat famous.
