As we close in on the eventual April 9th release date for Guilty Gear Strive, Arc System Works has finally released the character trailer for the long forgotten Anji Mito. Anji Mito has not been seen (or rather playable) since 2012’s Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core Plus R and has been a fan favorite for his potential return in Guilty Gear Strive.
Anji mains should be pleased to see that his moveset is mostly intact. His Shitsu projectile and staple Fuujin rekkas make a return and stays true to his gorilla-like pressure. I would have hoped to see his Shin: Nishiki or Ichishiki in the footage, but I’ll take what I can get. Also, tell me that new track isn’t a banger, I’ll fight you.
While I am content, I feel like we weren’t quite fed enough. We’re supposed to be hearing news this month on when the open beta will launch, and we didn’t get a sneak peak of the next new character like we did for Giovanna’s reveal. The final character trailer of the base roster is due out sometime in February.
Guilty Gear Strive launches on April 9th, 2021 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
