Intellivision Amico shows first impressions at Video Game Museum

"Even my mom likes it!"

Intellivision Entertainment unveiled the first playable demo of the Intellivision Amico at a local expo in Texas. At the expo, the company showed off some of the launch titles due to release with the console this October. The console will come in three different colors, so you can deck out your TV stand with style The prices will be different depending on the look of the console:

  • $249 (Modern Black and white)
  • $279 (Retro Woodgrain)
  • and $299 (Galaxy Purple)

New versions of Atari classics will be reimagined and are expected to be released at launch for digital download. BurgerTime and Moon Patrol are mentioned but not confirmed if they will be included in the launch titles. Games available via the Amico Game Shop will cost $9.99 or less, with games releasing at a later date for $40 or less.

All games that are released on the Amico must have some features exclusive to the console, and must be rated E, E10+ by the ESRB, or under the PEGI 7 rating by USK. Physical copies will be available with a RFID Download key and rage at retail between $20 to $30.

In the video above, you can see some of the initial impressions from convention goers. Considering this is a video on Intellivision’s YouTube channel, you’ll obviously see nothing but positive comments from the gamers. From the footage, it does look promising though!
