Bones, is that you?

Ladies and gentlmen, Bones Jackson is making a comeback!

That’s right, Michael Mendheim, the creator and designer of the classic Mutant League Football and Mutant League Hockey on the SEGA Genesis, has created a Kickstarter project to raise $750,000 to fund the development of a new game in the series called Mutant Football League.

Being designed for Xbox 360, iOS and Android, Mendheim promises the same violent and wacky football action we loved about the original.

“Monsters and Mutants take the field to battle it out in the most violent game ever played in this hilarious and brutal parody of professional football,” he wrote on the Kickstarter page. “Mutant Football League pays homage to the classic Sega Genesis game by building a great playing action football game with deep strategy, creature customization, over-the-top violence and of course laugh-out-loud gross out humor.”

Mendheim said he’s been trying to find a publisher for the game for 10 years, but no “game publisher will take a risk on the idea.”

“Our plan is to deliver you a fun and hilarious game in 14 to 18 months or die trying (seriously – we will do our best to get the game out on time but what’s most important is to deliver you a great playing football game),” he added.

There are a ton of stretch goals, including a Steam version if they reach $1 million, an Xbox One version at $2 million and a PlayStation 4 version if they reach $3 million.
