New Streets of Rage 4 character revealed at Gamescom

Streets of Rage 4 developer Lizardcube posted on Twitter last Friday that we’d get some news on the upcoming follow-up to SEGA’s classic brawler this week, and they certainly didn’t waste any time.

The big news, of course, is a new playable character has been revealed, along with new gameplay footage, showcasing her in action.

According to Dotemu, Cherry Hunter is the daughter of Adam Hunter from the original Streets of Rage. Her interest in following in her father’s footsteps and becoming a cop soon faded out, replaced by her love of music. Nowadays, she plays with her electro progressive rock band.

She looks to be a very acrobatic character, who uses her guitar as a weapon because why wouldn’t you, right?! The video also shows off her super power, where she looks to call upon the gods of rock to unleash a lightning attack on all the opponents on screen. She looks like a pretty interesting character, and we can’t wait to get a feel for how she plays!

Streets of Rage 4 is co-developed by Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games and will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
