Odin Sphere tops Media Create’s Japanese sales chart

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir was unleashed upon the shores of Japan last week, and it appears that it was welcomed with open arms. The Vanillaware remaster of the PlayStation 2 original was released on the PlayStation 4, PS3 and Vita.

Surprisingly enough, the Vita version topped the charts, coming in first place, with 43, 394 units told, while the PS4 version came in second with 42, 263 units sold. The PS3 version came in 10th place, selling 9,771 copies.

Before the game’s release, a demo was released on the Japanese PSN, and be sure to read our in-depth preview here.

Atlus has announced very recently that the game will release in North America on July 7th.

But if you don’t want to wait that long, you can always import the game from our friends at Play Asia!PlayStation 4 users can spring for the super-deluxe Storybook Edition or the decidedly less premium Limited-Time Bonus Edition, which is also available to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita gamers.

Be sure to check back for a full review of the game, unboxing videos of the Storybook Edition, and more coverage of Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir in the coming months.
