This Week in SEGA Tweets

Welcome to one of our new features at SEGA Nerds! This Week in SEGA Tweets is where, every week, we take a look at some of the more interesting, strange or silly tweets in the world of SEGA. Some of these may come from SEGA employees, prominent members of the SEGA community or just regular people like you and I who are tweeting stuff about the company or any of its memorable characters.

So without further adieu, let’s get on with it.

Rock-a-bye and goodnight …

Legendary Ecco the Dolphin creator Ed Annunziata sings us to sleep with his nursery rhymes. Actually, he’s been doing this for awhile now, and it’s just the thing we need to read when we’re having a restless night sleep and watching a quick clip of Pornhub isn’t doing the trick.

Yu like to party?

This guy apparently parties with Yu Suzuki and says he talked to him about his desire to create Shenmue 3. But according to his request for retweets, 463 would pledge at least $20. Call me crazy, but I don’t think $9, 620 is gonna fund a new Shenmue.

Wanna play a game of Lucky Hit?

Speaking of Shenmue 3, a recent tweetathon went underway with the hashtag of”GiveYuTheShenmueLicense.” Unlike the infamous internet petitions, these may do more in getting SEGA’s attention, but I hope you’re not holding your breath that SEGA will ever simply give Shenmue to Suzuki.

If this won’t convince them …

OK, I promise this is the last with the Shenmue stuff this week, but this continues with the Give Yu the Shenmue License campaign. To be honest, it certainly caught my attention. I’m also pretty sure that’s Nozomi on the far left! 😉

Hey everyone, look at me!

Hey, look at this asshole with the high score who’s trying to get everyone’s attention. Actually, I’m just bitter because he pretty much doubled my best Sonic Dash score. Nevertheless, I will not stop until I defeat him!

Welcome … to … Classic … Game … Room

This is awesome! I enjoy the Classic Game Room reviews, except for his voice. It really bothers me how unnaturally it sounds and the excessive pauses he makes between each word. But who cares, Saturn, right?

It’s like real life!

Ahhhh, the old Saturn magazine. Who remembers flipping through these pages, seeing new screens of upcoming games and drooling all over them because how lifelike the graphics looked? Looking back today, eh … not so much, but it’s worth it for nostalgia.

Oh, that’s suggestive!

When SEGA was battling Nintendo during the 16 bit wars, SEGA tried to attract an older male audience and had a lot of risque advertising like this. Anyone remember these?

Sound advice

If only SEGA had listened to this advice during the first Shadow the Hedgehog production meeting.

This is why he’s better than you

Tsk. Tsk. We’ve all had that girlfriend who thinks her old Nintendo games are better than what we have on SEGA. That is until we show her the true classics!

He’s still an asshole

Phil Fish is on a mission to prove to everyone he’s not any asshole. Unfortunately for him, it isn’t working.
