Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap coming to Nintendo Switch

We’ve already learned that Atlus has a new Shin Megami Tensei game and SEGA has Sonic Mania and Puyo Puyo Tetris in the works for the Nintendo Switch in 2017.

We’ve also just learned that Lizardcube has plans to release its upcoming title Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap on Nintendo’s new system, as well.

“A few months ago Nintendo contacted us. A reunion was held in mushroom kingdom under a veil of absolute secrecy, where they suggested we could bring the game over to their upcoming platform,” a post on the Lizardcube blog reads. “Needless to say it was a unique opportunity and as soon as we saw the system we knew we wanted to get the game on it.”

The developer confirmed the game is already running at 60 FPS, and “the screen and colors in handheld mode are amazing, and it plays just as well in full HD when docked.”

Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is a modern reimagining of the original Master System and PC Engine game that was release in 1989.
